Brevard
Zoo
While you are a guest
at the Courtyard
Cocoa Beach, you may want to venture out and explore the wonderful
attractions of sunny east central Florida.
Located only 25 minutes
away from the lovely Cocoa Beach area is the Brevard
Zoo, a beautiful wildlife conservation.
The Brevard
Zoo is uniquely special because it was built by the community.
It opened to the public in March of 1994, and since then it has
quickly grown into a conservation leader and has attracted tourists
from all over.
They are home to more
than 550 animals representing over 165 species from North America,
South America, Australia and Africa. At the Brevard
Zoo guests can see these marvelous creatures in a natural
habitat.
The Brevard
Zoo has been divided into several distinctive habitats:
- Expedition Africa:
Where guests can hand-feed giraffes from the observation platform.
- Wetlands Outpost
Kayaking: An Observation Outpost & Dock overlooking the zoo's
22 acre restored wetlands exhibit of the Brevard
Zoo.
- Train Ride: For
just $3 (ages 2 and up) guests can enjoy a 10 minute ride past
the Australian aviary and around Lemur Island.
- Paws On Animal Study
Zone: This is a multi-level interactive playground for both
kids and adults.
- Animal Encounters
Contact Yard: Guests get the opportunity to get up-close with
a variety of animals.
Have you ever seen
a real live alligator or crocodile during feeding time? At the
Brevard
